How much do I love coming home to see this....

I love it so much I just had to share with you all....

I feel so much like a little kid when I see something new blooming in my garden...

Every new bud that blooms is like opening that present under the tree at Christmas..
I get so excited!
I cannot wait for the other buds to open
It will be so pretty & surprising~

Flashback Friday~

Years ago my Mom asked me to keep all her old 45's and Albums in my basement.  So I did and never even looked at them.

I am doing some major over haul cleaning and decided to open the boxes for a look-see.  I found one of my favorite albums from back in the day...

Bring on the disco...

I just watched this movie a couple months ago and have to admit...I still love it!

I remember when I got this album...I was young, young, but I just had to have it!
It made me feel older and when we are little we want so bad to be the "big girl", it's funny how things change once we are the "big girl".  ;)

I wonder if John Travolta looks back at this and wishes he was younger???

My thoughts...Where I am at today...

I've had a lot going on lately. But when I put everything into perspective I realize that I am a very lucky and blessed person. I was laid off from my job about a 1 1/2 years ago. I have learned so much not only about myself but about the little things in life during this time.

At first I felt as if my life was over..I have worked, as most of us have most of my adult life and I started to identify myself as that person and everything else was secondary. In this last 1 1/2 years, I have been able to identify with so many other things. I found a different person inside of me, one that I believe I knew was there before but I just didn't know how to reach her.

I'm starting a new job May 31st. It's a big job, one that I've been working on getting for the last 6 months. I am very excited to start this new journey in my life however, I do not want to lose touch with who the real Angela is and want to just incorporate her into this new role.

I love that I had the opportunity to get in touch with the simpler things in life...I do not want that to go away. I now need to learn how to continue to do what I love...baking, redecorating, bargain shopping, gardening, enjoying the flowers the sun and the moon and be successful in my new career.

I want to be the best I can be as a working woman, a wife, mother, sister, daughter & friend.

So, as I step into this new journey of my life I hope you will step with me. I am realistic and know I will not be able to do everything in the time frame I have been. But in my time I will accomplish what I set out to do.

I'm sure the first month will be a little rocky... but I hope you have patience and still come and visit me. I look forward to sharing my new experiences with you.

Let's not forget to always look for our beautiful and take the time to appreciate it.

Wishing you another Beautiful Monday~

Oh boy I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed...I have so much to do in so little time (after being out of work for a year and a half, I am going back) This is a good thing...But, I am trying to wrap up loose ends and trying to get my house in order.  And now out of no where these tins show up in my life and complicate it even more. ;)

So what should I do with these darn things...I was going to throw them away or sell them at my garage sale next week for maybe a buck but my husband thinks some may be worth money.  Even if they are I wouldn't take the time to sell them on ebay or anything.  I know myself better than that...they'll just end up back in the basement or garage...lol

Some are pretty cool though...

This is just some of them, I have a lot more...so if I sell these at the garage sale what would be an  appropriate price?  Hmmm, I don't know or should I stuff them back in bins and hold on to them...I'm trying to clean up clutter not take on more...lol

Don't you just love the smell of fresh cut Lilacs~

They are so fragrant and beautiful but last just a short couple of weeks
I always try to make the best of their short season

Lilac's are said to represent confidence, pride & youthful innocence...

Yep, I think that pretty much fits into my life. ;)

So for now, I hope you too can enjoy a lilac & if they are not in your area you can always find a lilac scented candle. =)
They may not be as pretty but they sure smell good...

Cute lil Troll guy is napping amongst the hostas & Fuscia's...And...

This bird house I bought several years ago, I love how it has weathered.  I got a bit freaked out when I peaked inside and saw mama bird and babies not yet feathered...uh oh

17th Birthday Cake

My niece Adena Faith turned 17 this week.  She asked me to make her cake.

She wanted to change the colors of her room to yellow & black so...
I thought that would be a good theme for her cake.

She's my favorite 17 year old ever!  She is a beautiful person inside and out.

Happy Birthday my love~ I hope you had a beautiful day!

Estate Sale Find~

Who doesn't love a bargain...?

I am always looking for a good deal and this time of the year I am on a search for good garden finds....I don't mind fixer uppers, actually I prefer them as they are usually cheaper. =)

So I picked this up...

Not bad but I am NOT a mint green/orange girl...

So I gave it a lil touch of me...

I used spray paint primer first, then I spray painted it heirloom white (Rustoleum) after 2 coats of that I hand painted the blue...Which is a Behr paint called Jamaican Bay...

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was such a beautiful day...
I had my mom & daughter over for lunch, we had a beautiful day~

When my daughter turned 14, I wrote her a poem..
Her name is Krystle (pro-nounced crystal), I was never able to have anymore children and she has always been so precious to me so I always called her

My Precious Krystle...(the title of my poem)

You are the love of my life
My sunshine when my days are dark
and when you smile you melt my heart.

You are my Precious Krystle

Your hugs are warmer than my thickest blanket and when you say,
"I love you Mom"
I hear an Angel sent from Heaven.

You are my Precious Krystle

Here you are today on your 14th birthday
All grown-up & stunningly beautiful.
You are ready to go take on the world.

And here  I am on your 14th birthday
Still wishing I could hold you on my lap
and sing you lullabyes.
But knowing all to well you are getting older and you need to
learn & explore some things on your own.

But, you will always be my precious Krystle

You will grow & I will learn as a mom to let you grow.
We will always have our hugs, smiles & I love you's
that will keep us mom & daughter.

14 years ago God sent me a Precious Krystle
and asked me to care for her & love her.
I thank him everyday for he sent me the
best Precious Krystle in the world....

This pretty much sums up the love I have for my daughter (who is now 21) and how much it means to be a mother.
I am grateful for my mom and grateful for my daughter.

I hope everyone had a blessed day today.

Flashback Friday

I love love love nostalgic things...

My bestest bought me the lunch box knowing that as I child I adored Holly Hobby.

My beautiful Niece bought me the plate and vase.

Holly Hobby always seemed peaceful & simple yet mysterious to me.  There's is something about this that takes me back to a time of no concerns, fun nights catching fireflies and summers filled with laughter.

My Flowers are a Bloomin'

A while back I bought some house plants and I am so happy to report they seem to be doing just fine.  I have never been able to ever get an African Violet to re-bloom after I have bought one but now both of mine are doing so good.

This was her just about a week ago...

And this is her today....

I think they like it here =)
